The Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) recently announced the approval of URMULE registrations for Presidio® Fungicide for control of various diseases on potatoes, ginseng, leafy brassica greens, tobacco and greenhouse ornamentals in Canada. Presidio® Fungicide was already labeled for use on a number of crops in Canada for control of several diseases.
The minor use project for potatoes was sponsored by New Brunswick and the projects for ginseng, leafy Brassicas, tobacco and greenhouse ornamentals were sponsored by various grower organizations in Ontario as a result of minor use priorities established by growers and extension personnel.
The following is provided as an abbreviated, general outline only. Users should be making pest management decisions within a robust integrated disease management program and should consult the complete label before using Presidio® Fungicide.
Presidio® Fungicide is toxic to aquatic organisms and non-target terrestrial plants. Do not apply this product or allow drift to other crops or non-target areas. Do not contaminate off-target areas or aquatic habitats when spraying or when cleaning and rinsing spray equipment or containers. The use of this chemical may result in contamination of groundwater particularly in areas where soils are permeable and/or depth to the water table is shallow. Fluopicolide is persistent and may carryover. It is recommended that any products containing fluopicolide not be used in areas treated with this product during the previous season.
Follow all precautions and detailed directions for use on the Presidio® Fungicide label carefully.
