Tobacco blue mold reported in northern United States

Tobacco blue mold was recently found in broadleaf and shade tobacco in Connecticut and Massachussets.  In past weeks, the disease was also reported in Pennsylvania and Tennessee.

While there have been no reports of tobacco blue mold in Ontario so far this year, tobacco growers should be scouting their fields regularly for signs of blue mold.  Please report any findings or suspected infections of blue mold immediately.
